Wyee Point Marina is situated at the southern end of Lake Macquarie, and borders both the Wyong and Lake Macquarie municipalities. Click HERE to view a map. The wharf was built in the late 1980's in conjunction with the Aquatic Paradise development on Rutleys Rd at Wyee Point. As the area grew, so too did the marina clients. In the late 1990's the Marina was expanded to house an additional 8 vessels over 40 feet. Today the Marina is owned and operated by the well-known Hollis family, who were the original builders, owners and operators of Marks Point Marina until the mid 1980's. Carrying on the Hollis tradition of Marina owners, Newcastle born Warren, the eldest son of Joan and Charlie Hollis, operates Wyee Point Marina with his wife Carol and eldest son Jason. Together they have been working in the marine industry for a combined total of 118 years! The family is completed by Warren and Carol's youngest son Trent who has recently moved back to Lake Macquarie/Newcastle from Surfers Paradise to take up a position with the Sydney Port Authority based at Millers Point on Sydney Harbour.
Again continuing on the family tradition as a 'boatie' Trent spent many years as a skipper of a Pile Driving vessel constructing both private jetties and commercial marinas from Melbourne to Brisbane. Needless to say we still call on his expertise whenever we undertake any major maintenance at Wyee Point Marina. The move back to Lake Macquarie has also now enabled Trent and his wife to help out at the marina on a weekly basis - much to everyone's appreciation.
